Spiced Apples Breakfast Oats

Gluten Free, Whole Grains, No Refined Sugar Added Breakfast dish


Starting the day right with healthy breakfast is the best thing you can do for yourself. Breakfast should be warm and moist as per Ayurveda and this nourishing breakfast is perfect for fall and winter. Here, I am sharing one of my family's favorite breakfasts. I make this at least 2-3 times a week. Oats are gluten free and whole grain with tons of nutritions [Click here to see benefits of Oats]. They keep you full for a long time too. Recipe for Spiced Apples Breakfast Oats

Serves: 2 people | Total Time: 10 min | Prep Time: 2 min


Ingredients:

  • 1 medium size apple sliced

  • 1/2 cup oats (traditional or steel cut)

  • 1 tbsp ghee

  • 1-2 cloves

  • 1 inch piece of cinnamon

  • 1/3 cup water

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup (omit if want optional)


Direction:

  • In a sauce pan, heat up ghee with cloves and cinnamon

  • When it becomes aromatic, add apples

  • Stir and let it cook for 3-4 min covered

  • Add water and oats

  • Cover and cook another 2-3 min

  • Turn off the gas and add sweetener of choice

  • Enjoy warm!
