Paneer Kathi Roll

My all-time favorite dish is Paneer Kathi Roll. I LOVE Paneer (a type of Cottage cheese) especially good marinated Paneer that is grilled to perfection. It is so heavenly good and I can eat this every day. It took me a while to share this recipe because I wanted to make sure I get all the ingredients measured correctly for y'all. Paneer is a great source of Protein and Calcium for vegetarian people. Make sure you buy your Paneer that is healthy (Gopi Paneer) if you are not making your own. Pooja (honeygheeandtea) has amazing Paneer recipe and I am going to try it out at home too. Othwerise, use Gopi Paneer or Sach.


Here is the Recipe:


Ingredients for Marinating Paneer:

7 oz Paneer, cubed (half of regular size packet)

1/2 cup mixed color peppers cut long

1/2 cup onion cut long pieces (Batonnet)

1/2 cup yogurt

1 tsp salt

1 tsp red pepper

1/4tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp chat masalo

1 tsp dry methi leaves (kasuri methi)

1 tsp ginger

1 tsp garlic

1/4 tsp Turmeric

1 tsp garam masala


Procedure:

  • Marinate all the above ingredients for at least 2-3 hours.



  • Put 2-3 tsp oil in a nonstick pan or cast iron and put all the marinated content in. Cook until all the water is gone and you see charred Paneer



  • Separately, cook frozen paratha following instructions (you can choose to make your own rotis or parathas)



  • Spread green chutney on it (instructions for it below)



  • Put cooked Paneer



  • Spread some Yogurt/Green Chutney sauce or any other type of sauce you prefer

  • Wrap and Enjoy!


For Yogurt/Green Chutney Sauce

2 tbsp yogurt

1 tbsp green chutney

Salt per taste

  • Mix all the ingredients and use in kathi roll as desired
