Masala Egg Salad

If you are bored of eating boiled egg and omelette, try this Indian style egg salad! This egg salad with a twist has sour, spicy and tangy flavors to wake up your taste buds.

The common misconception about spices is that people associate spices to heat and spicy food. Spices are more than just hot. Spices are vital to help digest food we consume. I love playing around different spices and combing them to create taste that I prefer. That is why I strongly suggest you to not blindly follow my recipes or any other recipes. Adjust the quantity to suit your taste and body. You may not be able to handle spice level I am used to and that is perfectly fine, just reduce the spices from the recipe.

Remember that spices not only gives specific taste but also help in digestion!


I created this recipe because I needed a new way to eat eggs. Also, I had purchased fresh buns from Whole Foods and wanted to use them somehow. Traditionally Egg Salad is not eaten but Bun but hey, I make my own food rules! Eat your masala egg salad with bread, bun, noodles or just by itself.


Recipe for Masala Egg Salad:



Ingredients

4 boiled eggs

2 tbsp Mayo

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1/4 tsp Chili Lime seasoning from Trader Joe's

1/4 tsp Salt (or as per taste)

1/4 tsp cumin powder

1/4 tsp red chili powder

Pinch of black pepper

Coriander for garnishing


Directions:

Cut boiled eggs into small pieces and mix with other ingredients

Taste and adjust the spices per your taste! (very important)
