Dates are one of the best natural sources of sweetener. Sometimes I eat Dates when I crave for sweets! Dates are also excellent source of iron and has tons of great health benefits (Click to know everything about Medjool Dates). There are many varieties of Dates but Medjool Dates are my favorite. If you ever go to middle eastern countries like Dubai, you MUST try dates from there. They are SOO good. Last year when I went to Dubai, I tried some and those were the best dates I ever had!

I usually make these dates energy bars with Oats in summer and with Ginger in the winter. Here is my summer recipe and will post winter recipe soon but for now you can get a quick recipe from Instagram.

Key Highlights about the Energy Bar:

  • Made with a few simple pantry ingredients (Dates, Oats and nuts)

  • Use as cereal bar as mid day snack to give you energy

  • Can store at Room temperature or in fridge for 3-4 weeks

Recipe:

Note: Please modify ingredients per your preference.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs medjool dates, cut in small pieces

  • 1 cup oats, blended to make oats flour or use oat flour

  • 1/3 cup mix crushed nuts (Almond, walnut and pistachio)

  • 2 tsp Ghee (Clarified Butter) or coconut oil for vegan option

  • 1 tsp ginger powder (optional)

Directions:

  • Heat up ghee/coconut oil in a pot

  • Add dates and mix on low heat until dates get soft

  • Add oats powder, nuts, ginger powder and mix

  • Once mixed properly, turn off the flame and take out content from pan to a container

  • While the mixture is hot, press down and make marks where you want to cut pieces

  • Once cooled, cut into pieces and store with parchment paper so they don't stick.
