Almond Flour Brownies (GF)

What is your favorite dessert? My favorite dessert is Brownies. I don't know anyone who doesn't like brownies. There are tons of recipes online for brownies and this recipe is what my family loves. I am not a big baker. I used to buy ready to bake brownie packets for a long time because baking was intimidating. One day when I was craving for brownies and we didn't have any store bough packet so we had to make it from scratch. We used as many healthier choices as possible and to our surprise, we liked our recipe better than store bought pre-made packets. We use almond flour and brown sugar or coconut sugar for healthier option. Honestly, we like almond flour brownies better than regular flour because it is softer and has more chocolate flavor.


Recipe for Almond Flour Brownies (GF)


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond flour

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1 cup sugar (either half and half of brown sugar and coconut sugar or all coconut sugar)

  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder (for stronger chocolate flavor add 1/2 cup) - I get mine from Trader Joe's

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips


Method:

  • Preheat oven @350F

  • In a bowl, mix melted butter, eggs and vanilla extract

  • Add sugar, almond flour, cacao, baking powder, salt and chocolate chips

  • Pour into a baking tray that is greased with butter or ghee (I used 8x6 pan )

  • Bake for 20 min
